Forge an Explosion Mosaic Damascus Billet!

This is an advanced damascus pattern, and a great introduction into Mosaic damascus. In this class we'll work to forge out a basic stacked Damascus billet and then work and re-stack it multiple times, eventually tiling it into a Mosaic damascus billet for you to take home!
 
This is a 1-day class, that should run abotu 8 full hours. 
 
Mosaic damascus is not for beginners. This process is very time intensive and will require someone who's made damascus before. The process is as follows:
 
Stack and forge weld an initial billet of damascus, squishing the corners into a 'C' pattern
Grind and re-stack that billet to create a 'crushed W's' pattern with multiple layers, squished on a 45 to create a fan pattern.
Grind and square stack that billet to create the initial explosion pattern
Grind and re-square stack that billet to create a quad explosion pattern
If there's time, we should do this step twice to create a very dense explosion pattern - this is at my discretion based on the time we have left!
Grind, tile, rotate, and forge weld the tiles of our explosion pattern into a final billet where the pattern will be adjusted onto the sides of the billet rather than on the face of the billet
 
This class is for intermediate to advanced skill levels and is a great introduction to advanced patterns. If you have not made damascus already, please consider one of our more basic damascus classes to get started!
